Abubakah shekau or bashir Mohammed

Told you yesterday that naija has three sides to their coin. Well, this is the news we got today concerning shekau's death.
Cameroonian authorities yesterday released a photo of a dead man they identified as Abubakar Shekau, the loquacious and attention-seeking leader of the terrorist group that has launched deadly strikes in Nigeria’s northeast zone as well as Cameroon. The Nigerian intelligence source told SaharaReporters that Nigerian soldiers, not Cameroonian troops, had killed Mr. Bashir last Friday in a fierce battle against Boko Haram insurgents in Konduga, Borno State. The late Mr. Bashir, who bore a striking resemblance to Abubakar Shekau and had appeared in a recent video, was killed as he led insurgents who were attempting to capture Konduga and then made a bid to seize Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, as well.
Nigerian soldiers routed the Islamist militants in Konduga, killing hundreds of them and capturing weapons as well as vehicles abandoned by fleeing insurgents. The military as well as Nigerian government-appointed negotiators claim that the original Mr. Shekau had died since last year, reportedly assassinated by his lieutenants. The intelligence source said Mr. Bashir had adopted Mr. Shekau’s nom deguere and had been the person responsible for issuing video messages in recent times. Even though our source said the military was cautious not to claim credit for Mr. “Shekau’s” death, he added that the Nigerian military was buoyed by the capture of the armored tank usually displayed in the background of recent videos issued by the sect’s spokesman.

The 25 best diet tips

Best weight loss tricks ever!
If you've ever tried to lose weight (and who hasn't), you've got to be mindful of whose advice you take. Your colleague says you need to cut out carbs. Your gym buddy knows the secret is to stop eating after 7 p.m. Your Facebook friend swears she’ll be in swimsuit shape by March if she only eats once a day. Your husband, well, he sneezes and the weight seems to fall off.

But do any of these tips really work? To help you shed those extra pounds—and keep them off—without starving yourself, ditching your social life, or eating only at odd times of the day, we talked to experienced nutritionists for real-world advice you can actually live with, day in and day out. We'll tell you how to focus on the delicious foods you can add to your diet, why you should be eating more often (yes!), the fat loss benefits of more sleep, and how even taking a few deep breaths can put you on a successful path to weight loss.

Here, the 25 best diet tips of all time. Say buh-bye to hunger and hello skinny jeans.

1. Never get too hungry
You make poor decisions when your judgment is compromised. Hunger is a primal urge that’s difficult to deny. When you're famished, it's hard to hold off until you can find healthy food. As a result, you end up eating anything that's not nailed down, and typically, regretting it. Planning meals and snacks works wonders to head off the intense hunger that can do a number on your best intentions to eat right. Always tote healthy snacks, such as an ounce of pistachios, a hard-cooked egg and some whole grain crackers, Greek yogurt, or 1/4 cup raisins. Don't skip meals or skimp on them, either. Here, 6 portable, protein-packed snacks that fill you up.

2. Be honest about your daily calorie allowance
Everyone has a calorie budget, whether you're trying to maintain your weight or lose a few pounds. I've found that people ignore this simple fact. Your calorie budget allows you to build a healthy diet, and it helps prevent frustration about weight control. The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans provide suggested daily calorie intakes based on gender, age, and physical activity level. When you know your calorie budget, then you can plan on how many servings of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and other protein sources to include every day.

3. Eat right post-workout
People are notorious for overestimating how many calories they burn during physical activity, which is often far less than actual calories burned. When you overestimate the calories you burn during exercise, you may eat more than you need, making weight loss and maintenance difficult. High-intensity exercise may drive women to eat more, and moderate exercise may be the key to easier weight control. To see how many average calories you’re burning during everyday activities and exercise, check out this chart from the CDC. You can see how easy it is to wipe out the calories burned during a workout with just a few extra nibbles during the day.

4. Use the red, orange and green rule
At each meal include one food that is any of these colors. By focusing on these foods, you'll be sure to get some produce on your plate and won't have space on your plate for higher-calorie fare. (Bonus: Colorful fruits and veggies help your skin look healthier and younger! Here's what to eat for glowing skin!)

5. Eat one less bite
Doing this at every meal could save about 75 calories a day which equates to nearly an 8-pound weight loss in one year

6. Be a heavy drinker
Water is essential for keeping the body hydrated and we're actually more likely to retain "water weight" by not drinking enough of it rather than by having too much. The needs of each person will be different, but the general recommended daily amount is 64 ounces. It also takes up space in your stomach so you'll feel fuller while taking in less calories. Find out the best non-boring ways to get in your recommended servings of water.

7. Kick the salt habit
Salt is a big contributor to weight gain and often a reason why the numbers on the scale aren't going down. The average American consumes twice the amount of salt they should have each day, leading to weight gain, bloating, and the inability to lose stubborn pounds. Salt can also make you feel hungrier and thirstier, so check the nutrition labels for high sodium levels and choose fresh over packaged or restaurant foods. You'll see a puffy face and belly go down quickly just by cutting back on your sodium intake and choosing more natural foods. Here's how to start reducing sodium in your diet.

8. Spice up your food
Adding hot spices to your meals can help curb hunger, according to a study in the British Journal of Nutrition. Need another reason to add some heat? Scientists at the State University of New York at Buffalo found that capsaicin (a compound found in chilies) triggers your brain to release feel-good endorphins. A full belly and a good mood? Pass the hot sauce!

9. Don't think diet soda will help you lose weight
A University of Texas Health Science Center study found that the more diet sodas a person drank, the greater their risk of becoming overweight. Downing just two or more cans a day increased waistlines by 500%. Why? Artificial sweeteners can disrupt the body's natural ability to regulate calorie intake based on the sweetness of foods, suggested an animal study from Purdue University. That means people who consume diet foods might be more likely to overeat, because your body is being tricked into thinking it's eating sugar, and you crave more.

A separate study found that even just one diet soda a day is linked to a 34% higher risk of metabolic syndrome, the group of symptoms including belly fat and high cholesterol that puts you at risk for heart disease. Whether that link is attributed to an ingredient in diet soda or the drinkers' eating habits is unclear. But is that one can really worth it?

10. Focus on nutrient balance instead of calorie counting
Making sure an eating occasion has carbs, protein, and fat instead of just counting calories (like a 100-calorie pack) delivers better energy and fat loss results by giving the body what it needs, like quick- and longer-digesting nutrients so you stay full longer. See ashleykoffapproved.com/nutritionplan for guidance.

11. Plate food away from where you're eating
By keeping food within eyesight as you are eating, you may find yourself reaching for a second helping even if you really aren't hungry. Place the food on the kitchen counter or stove, portion out a serving on your plate and then sit down at the table and eat. This way, if you want additional servings, you'll have to get up, which helps you to be more mindful of what you are eating.

12. Keep a food record
We know you've heard this time and time again. Well, that's because keeping a food record is vital to losing weight and keeping it off long term. A study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that those who kept regular food records lost twice as much weight as those who didn't. When keeping a food record, make sure to track what you ate, how much you ate, anything you added to the food (condiments, oils, etc.), and what you drank. Also tracking your mood and appetite can be helpful and insightful into learning about your eating patterns as well!

13. Start with soup
People who ate a low-calorie vegetable soup before a meal consumed 20% fewer calories at the meal, according to research from Penn State Unniversity. Have a low-calorie broth-based veggie soup before your largest meal of the day to reduce calories and lose weight without feeling hungry.

14. Take your time
Rapid eaters are often heavier than slow eaters, according to research from The University of Rhode Island. It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to send a message to your brain that you have eaten enough and are satisfied. If you rush your meal and eat rapidly, your body's satiety cues won't be tuned in to those feelings of fullness yet and it's easier to overeat. Try slowing down by chewing each bite at least 10 times, putting your fork down in between bites, and fostering a relaxing eating environment rather than eating on the run.

15. Outsmart your hunger hormone
Even the most motivated and focused dieter will struggle to be successful at weight loss once hunger takes over. Our bodies secrete a hormone called ghrelin, which controls hunger and drives our appetite. If we don't understand, monitor, and control our ghrelin, we can forget about losing weight. Science tells us that the best way to control ghrelin is to eat small, balanced meals about every 3 hours or so. That's because ghrelin will spike after about 3 to 4 hours of fasting, so eating with regularity helps keep this eating trigger at bay. Ghrelin will also spike if we're deprived of carbs, so it's important to give our bodies and brains the carb fuel they need. When we skip meals or avoid carbs, we're inviting ghrelin to spike, which increases and makes us feel emotionally hungry. It makes us crave sugar and can derail even the healthiest eating routine.

16. Dine anytime
It's a myth that you'll gain weight as a direct result of eating after 7 p.m. I see many busy professionals at my private practice, and they often get home late. This doesn't mean that they should skip dinner if they're trying to lose weight.

Many times, people stop eating by 5 p.m., which results in overeating the following day. This cycle is not ideal as it shuts down your metabolism. You should eat 70% of your calories before dinnertime and 30% at dinner, whatever time that may be. Just give yourself at least 90 minutes to end your meal before you plan to go to sleep. You need at least 90 minutes to digest so you can sleep comfortably.

17. Set a date with your kitchen
Based on what I have applied in my practice, when it comes to weight loss we need to devote 80% of our efforts to nutrition and 20% to exercise.

One way to do this is to schedule time and make a date with your supermarket and kitchen. Restaurant dishes are outside of your control, and the fact is, most times, those outrageous portions come loaded with salt and fat. Start cooking at home to better monitor your calorie intake.

Schedule a day, like Sunday afternoon, to pre-cook for the week. Plan to roast a whole chicken. Cut up a batch of vegetables—like squash, peppers, eggplant, and sweet potatoes—toss them with a little olive oil and roast them in another pan alongside the chicken. Boil a pot of brown rice. Do all of this simultaneously and it should only take about an hour.

Now you have the makings for Monday's burritos, Tuesday's stew, Wednesday's pasta dish, and so on. Each working evening, you should only need about 15 minutes in the kitchen to put it together—less time than you might spend heating up a fat-, salt- and sugar-filled frozen pizza!

18. Breathe away cravings
This may seem obvious. After all, you have to breathe no matter what, right? But few of us breathe deeply or consciously. Think about it: when was the last time you took a long, slow, deep breath, and slowly let it out again? Deep breaths of that kind take you out of your immersion in momentary stress, oxygenate your brain and tissues, and they help to reduce stress hormones. Take breathing breaks throughout the day, or, better yet, pair those breaks with a quiet walk to disassociate from the stress. Just a couple of minutes of walking, a few long, deep breaths, and you will start to see the results in your body.

19. Eat before a party or event
Don't arrive at a big meal, event, or party starving. One study found that you'll be 2.5 times more likely to start off overeating starchy carbs, fried or cheesy foods than those who didn't fast before the meal. And, you'll be more likely to eat 47% more calories of that first food before switching to healthier fare. Have a light snack before you go to an event so you don’t arrive ravenous.

20. Be adventurous with chopsticks
Choosing chopsticks requires a bit more attention in picking up food from the plate. The portions are smaller, and eating with them takes more time because you have to closely watch each bite so the food doesn’t fall off. They can act as a reminder to slow down, savor and chew consciously which may help you realize you’re fuller sooner than you thought you’d be and then wind up eating less!

21. Wear fitted clothing
The elastic waistband is the dieter's fashion enemy number one. When you wear clothes that fit well and make you feel good, you have awareness gauges that give you clear signals to help you put on the brakes as you fill up. Use this as a way of staying mindful of your goals and to help keep you from overeating.

22. Celebrate healthy talk
Instead of using words like "fat," say "fit"; change "can't" to "can"; "weak" to "strong"; "unhealthy" to "healthy." It takes practice but it can start to rewire how you think about your health and weight goals.

New research commissioned by Special K surveying over 1,000 women, found that 9 out of 10 women who have a positive attitude about weight management reported either losing or maintaining their weight in the past year versus only about 50% of those with a negative attitude. And beyond being more successful, those with a positive attitude were eight times less likely to report having gained weight than women who think negatively.

23. Eat breakfast without fail
A study published in the British Journal of Nutrition tracked the diets of nearly 900 adults and found that when people ate more fat, protein, and carbohydrates in the morning, they stayed satisfied and ate less over the course of the day than those who ate their bigger meals later on. Unfortunately, many Americans start off on an empty stomach. In one survey, consumers reported that even when they eat in the morning, the meal is a full breakfast only about one-third of the time. If you're feeling full-blown hunger before noon, there's a chance you're not eating enough in the morning. Shoot for a minimum of 250 calories and aim to get a serving of protein in so you’ll feel fuller longer.

24. Take 10 minutes to eat a treat
Try this strategy to permanently reduce cravings: Portion out one serving of your favorite treat, taking a minute to smell it, look at it, and think about it. Take one small bite. Chew slowly, moving it around your mouth and focusing on the texture and taste, then swallow. Ask yourself whether you want another bite or if that one satisfied you. If you still want more, repeat, this time chewing the food 20 times. Continue this eating exercise for as long as you want or until you finish the serving (it should take about 10 minutes). "When you take the time to slow down and be more mindful of what something really tastes like, you'll feel more satisfied," says Lesley Lutes, PhD, an associate professor in the department of psychology at East Carolina University.  "Many of our participants told us that after a while, they didn't enjoy the treat as much as they thought they would, or they were content after just a couple of bites and were better able to stop eating when they were satisfied."

25. Sleep away weight gain
Make a point of turning in earlier and you’ll see weight loss within a week. Recent research from the University of Pennsylvania found even just a few nights of sleep deprivation can lead to almost immediate weight gain. Scientists asked participants to sleep about 10 hours a night for two days, followed by five nights of sleep restriction and four nights of recovery. After the 11 days, the sleep-deprived group gained almost 3 pounds, compared with a well-rested control group.

Fear of robbery pushed banks to close early in Ogun state

Punch just reported this news.
Banks in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State on Monday were said to have shut their doors against customers as their management was said to have been gripped by the fear of robbery attacks.

Our correspondent gathered that almost all the major banks who have branches in the town operated skeletal services for about one hour before hurriedly shutting their doors.

Customers who turned up to either make withdrawals from their accounts or pay in money were disappointed.

Our correspondent gathered that the management of these banks were afraid that robbers might invade their banks, because the only Armoured Personnel Carrier allocated by the state police command to Ijebu Ode has developed mechanical faults and has been taken away.

A banker who did not want his name in print told our correspondent that they were only being security conscious because the festive seasons were around the corner, and the men of the underworld might strike.

He said, “The Eid-Kabir celebration is around the corner. Likewise the Christmas celebration, and these seasons come with their challenges. Men of the underworld also want to celebrate. So they go all out to unleash mayhem on banks or other places they feel they can get money.

“Based on our experience in the past, we do not want to take chances, because the Armoured Personnel Carrier usually stationed here had developed mechanical fault and it has been taken away. It is the one in Ago Iwoye that has been alternating between the two towns.”

Our source gathered that this palpable fear also led to closure of banks in Ijebu Igbo, a neighbouring town to Ijebu Ode.

A resident, Mr. Dotun Akinola, who went to one of the new generation banks in Ijebu Ode to make withdrawals on Monday said he was disappointed to meet the bank under lock and key.

He said, “I was terribly disappointed because I was so broke. I met some other customers at the gate of the bank but we were never allowed in.

“But I was told that some of the banks opened for business around 1pm when the police brought the APC from Ago Iwoye to Ijebu Ode. But immediately the APC was moved out of the town, the banks quickly shut their doors.”

Most of the banks who had their offices on Ibadan Road did not open for business.

The police spokesman in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, said there was always an APC stationed along Ibadan Road, and that there was no cause for alarm.

He said if there was any incident in Ijebu Igbo, the APC would get there in matter of minutes.

He said in the security arrangement, the carrier was just a backup to other security arrangements.

He said, “The APC on Ibadan Road is four kilometres away to Ijebu Igbo. The commissioner of police has ordered the Area commander to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order in the area.

“With what we have on ground, there is no cause for alarm.”

A new app that gives sight to the blind

Massachusetts firm has developed a screen reading app for iOS devices that detects and reads any text aloud, and costs a relatively cheap $99 (£60).
The KNFB Reader app is capable of scanning for text – even within images - and converts it into speech automatically.
The $99 (£60) app is available for the iPhone 5 and above, running iOS 7 and higher.
When a user wants to read text, they hold the device above the piece of paper, over the advert or at a shop window, and the app will scan for writing.
Once it detects text and is the best position, it will take a photo of it.
This photo is then decoded and the speech begins almost instantaneously.
It supports English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian - and works with all Braille displays supported by VoiceOver on iOS

A model who spent £30,000 transforming herself into a real-life sex doll.

Victoria Wild, 30, has undergone plastic surgery to give herself an exaggerated pout, huge breasts and gigantic eyelashes so she can look like an inflatable sex toy.
The operations include three rounds of breast surgery to become a size 32G, costing £25,000, rhinoplasty (£3,000), bottom implants, permanent lip implants as well as botox (£2,000).

Wild, from Cannes, France, has funded the surgery with various modelling assignments and with help from her boyfriend Simon.
She said: ‘Who wouldn’t want to be treated like a bimbo doll? It’s such a sexy look. People stare at me in the street and I love the way I stand out.’
Wild said her obsession with looking like a blow-up doll started when she visited Latvia as a teenager. She had an inferiority complex about the way she looked because she had small size-A breasts, and people called her ‘Barbie’ because she was slim and blonde.
‘I didn’t know about plastic surgery at that age but I would always dream about resembling a sexy bimbo doll with huge breasts and insanely big lips,’ she said.
‘I loved the way dolls looked and how sexy they were. They are so bright and bold. It was this fantasy in my head.’
When Wild met her Italian businessman boyfriend Simon when she was 25, he encouraged her to pursue her dream.
She said: ‘Simon loves my sex doll look. I’m a bombshell now. People look at me in the street and men absolutely adore me. Simon’s so proud of the attention I get.
‘I get more glamour model work because how I look too. I would love to become famous for being a sex doll.’
She adds that she’s never felt happier or more confident.

The truth behind khloe and french montana's breakup

Khloe allegedly kicked boyfriend French to the curb earlier this month because he was secretly texting the reality star’s best friend, Malika Haqq!
“Khloe broke into French’s phone and saw him sending all kinds of inappropriate texts, and they were to her girl,” an insider says of the former couple.
“That’s why they broke up.”
But the 30-year-old isn’t blaming her best friend for the suspicious communication, the story claims; Khloe believes the sexting was all French's doing.
“Khloe has been down with Malika since forever,” the source explains, and if you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians online, you know this is true.
Malika has been seen by Khloe's side on TV for years, most recently and notably as her shoulder to cry on when things went south with Lamar in '13.
It's not clear if we'll see her next on Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons, but it seems like a pretty safe bet that Khloe takes Malika everywhere.
Khloe's latest reality show premieres sometime this fall, though it's not exactly clear when. Whenever it airs, it promises plenty of drama, that's for sure.
French will be featured prominently, as we saw in the E! series' first trailer, along with Kourtney and Scott Disick, who ends up having a major breakdown.
As for French, he's spoken about their split several times.
Recently, French Montana and Trina have been getting into it, with the exes arguing over who cheated and when and who's using who and for what.

Abubakar shekau

Cameroon military shared this picture and claim to have killed Abubakar shekau. I hope this is real. Read the news below

In a rare public show by the Cameroon army, photos of the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau were made public alongside a statement claiming he was killed during a cross border raid deep inside Nigeria by the Cameroon military. A Cameroon military source who spoke to Cameroon Concord late last night, revealed that Abubakar Shekau was killed following an aerial bombardment of his hideout inside Nigeria. The Cameroon army has ever since yesterday been in serious combat against thousands of Boko Haram fighters trying to enter Cameroon via Fotokol from Gambaral Ngala in Nigeria.

Facebook for the rich: New social network costs £5,500 to join and £1,800 a year

Are you fed up with all the common people on your Facebook page clogging up your news feed with common people-type updates?

Well, have no fear, there is a new social network in town that the oiks will simply not be able to afford.

A website called Netropolitan has launched and it will cost you £5,500 to join plus nearly £2,000 in annual membership fees.

The idea idea behind the elite social network is that people will be able to talk about ‘fine wine, fancy cars, and lucrative business decisions without judgement’.

Right…

In an interview with Vice, founder James Touchi-Peters compared the website to ‘real world social clubs or country clubs’ most of which ‘charge many multiples of what we’re charging’.

So that’s it for me. I’m off to delete my Facebook account, get in my private jet and start posting selfies from my private island in the Caribbean.

House of horrors: Daughter tells how she was forced to sleep with 1,800 men by the time she was 18 as part of Satanic sex cult run from suburban semi

The daughter of a woman involved in a Satanic sex cult has revealed her evil mother made her sleep with 1,800 men by the time she was 18.
The woman, who has called herself Annabelle Forest, was initiated into the sick cult after having to watch her mother perform a sex act on the cult's ringleader Colin Batley at the age of seven.
At 11 she was raped twice by the man, and three years later made to take part in group sex with her mother at their home near Llanelli in Wales, where at least two other households on the street took part in cult activity.
Colin Batley and Jacqueline Marling were jailed for systemically sexually abusing the girl as she was growing up.
Batley's wife Elaine was also convicted of sexually assaulting a child alongside Sheila Millar, a prostitute who is thought to have frequented Batley's house.
A 2011 trial at Swansea Crown Court heard how Batley, who was married at the time and lived on the same street in a different house, wore hooded robes and chanted before having group sex with the women and children.
Snakes would be kept near an 'altar' in his lounge where residents on the quiet cul-de-sac would congregate on Sunday evenings.

Snakes would be kept near an 'altar' in his lounge where residents on the quiet cul-de-sac would congregate on Sunday evenings.
Now settled with her own family, Annabelle has spoken out against Batley and her mother who were sentenced to at least 11 years and 12 years imprisonment respectively.
'Nothing can hurt me as much as my mum and that man. My mother was an evil woman and I'll never forgive her,' she said.
'To be abused like that by your own mum beggars belief.'
In her recently released memoir, Annabelle reveals she had slept with almost 2,000 men by her 18th birthday after being forced in to prostitution to raise money for the cult's 'church'.
The couple's twisted ideology was based on the Book of the Law by Aleister Crowley, and made children believe they were proving themselves to god by having sex with other members, all the while egged on by Batley, now 48.
'I was 11 when he first raped me - the worst thing about it was the fact that he made me think I was doing it out of choice,' she said.
'It was awful. The most painful and shocking thing that had ever happened - but it was my path, that's what he told me, and if I didn't do it I would go to the Abyss, which was our version of hell.
'Colin knew how to manipulate you, to make you believe anything he said.'
'We weren't even allowed to look in his eyes.
'He ruled our little community with an iron will and we were made to do what he ordered for fear of angering the Gods.'
After being sexually assaulted by her own mother aged 14, the teenager tried to kill herself.
'Afterwards, Colin asked me if I enjoyed it and I knew what I had to say - I had to say yes.
'But inside I felt like dying.
'I was a schoolgirl by day and a sex slave at night.
'It got so bad that at one point I tried to take my own life.'
At the age of 17, Ms Forest became pregnant by her cruel step-father.
A year after the birth of the child she fled the house in the dead of the night, and did not see either her mother or Batley until their sentencing in 2011.
'I went to the sentencing in court because I wanted to see her one last time, I wanted her to reach out to me, to say it was all his fault and she was under his spell.
'But she didn't. She just made a face and asked what I was doing there.
'She went to prison unrepentant and I suppose that made me realise it wasn't just him. She was evil too.
'As a mother myself I can hardly believe how she treated me. It was unnatural and cruel.
'But there is no point getting depressed about it, you have to live for the future.
'But I never want to see her again. Nothing can hurt me as much as they did, but that is what makes me stronger.'
Annabelle, who now lives in north England, has chronicled her horrifying childhood in a memoir tited The Devil on The Doorstep: My Escape from a Satanic Sex Cult.
The mother-of-two hopes it will help save other children from the ordeal she faced.
'If there's one thing I would like to achieve with my book, it would be for others to start really paying attention to the community they live in.'
'There are abused children everywhere - it just takes one person to see it and that life could be saved.'

The Edo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man who hacked two children to death, severed the arm of another, while he also tore the nose of another child.

The suspect, Mike Okeze, 50, was said to have stormed the home of his neighbour ─ Udeh Oliver ─ on Wednesday in Okha II community, off Old Sapele Road in the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. He allegedly attacked Udeh’s children with a machete and hacked two of them – Destiny Oliver, (3 years); and Samson Oliver, (6 years) – to death.

Another of the children, Goodness Oliver, (4years), had her wrist severed, while eight-year-old Gift Oliver sustained a deep cut in her nose.

The Edo State Police Command’s spokesman, Noble Uwoh, told our correspondent on the telephone that the police had launched a manhunt for the alleged killer and would soon apprehend him.

He said, “The suspect murdered the two children in his neighbour’s apartment, following a misunderstanding between him and the Udehs.

“The man actually had a misunderstanding with the wife and the man went to her house and murdered a six-year-old boy and another three-year-old boy.

“The same suspect went ahead to inflict injuries on two other children of that woman who are currently undergoing treatment, while two corpses have been deposited in the mortuary.

“The injured ones are Gift Oliver, eight years, and Goodness Oliver, four years.

“The suspected killer fled the scene, but investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to locate and arrest the man. We have launched a manhunt for him.”

The father of the children, Udeh, however urged the Edo State Government and the Nigeria Police to fish out the suspected killer and made him face the law.

Udeh, who hails from Enugu, told our correspondent that his wife, Chinyere Udeh, was Okeze’s initial target.

He added that the wife ran away to get help from neighbours when the assailant descended on the children.

He said, “The man attacked four of my children with a cutlass. Two died, while the remaining two are at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. I have six children. My other two boys and my wife escaped from the man. The corpses of the two who died are at the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin.

“It was my wife that he wanted to kill. But she ran away to call our neighbours. When they arrived at my house, he ran away into the bush and we have yet to find him.”

The mourning father claimed that the suspect had nurtured hatred for his family.

He said, “I didn’t have any problem with him. But my wife told me that he hated my children. So, when I travelled, he attacked my family with a cutlass and killed two of my children,” he said.

The 30-year-old, who manages a farm for a living, lamented that he could not afford to pay the hospital bills of his two daughters, who had both been scheduled to undergo a surgery at the UBTH.

“I was told that two of my children, who were injured by the man, would have to undergo some operations. I know that the cost of the operations will be expensive and I don’t have any money. I only manage a farm to feed my family.

“I am appealing to the government and the police to help me fish out my family’s attacker wherever he is and get to the bottom of the case,” Udeh said.

Children, 12, among thousands 'routinely' tortured by Nigerian police

Electric shocks, beatings and sexual violence among tactics regularly used on detainees by Nigerian security services, say Amnesty International
Children as young as 12 are routinely tortured by Nigeria's police and army despite millions of pounds of British aid being spent to help to reform the country’s notoriously ill-disciplined security services.
Amnesty International spoke to more than 500 men, women and children over 10 years to uncover repeated reports of torture chambers, detainees being denied access to family or lawyers, and a dozen regularly-used methods of torture.
These included electric shocks, sexual violence, pulling out nails and teeth and suspending people upside down by their feet or forcing them to sit on sharp objects.
Some police stations even have an unofficial "O/C Torture", the officer in charge of torture, which is still not criminalised in Nigeria, Amnesty said in a new report, "Welcome to Hellfire", published on Thursday.
A fifth of Britain's nearly £1 billion of aid earmarked for Nigeria between 2011 and 2015 is to be spent on "governance and security", according to the Department for International Development.
Thatincludes a £52 million "Justice For All" programme designed "to deliver efficient, effective and accountable policing and remand services".
Despite attempts at reform, however, conditions have not changed, and in fact worsened in recent years as suspected members of the al-Qaeda-allied Boko Haram were rounded up.
"This goes far beyond the appalling torture and killing of suspected Boko Haram members," said Netsanet Belay, Amnesty's research and advocacy director.
"Across the country, the scope and severity of torture inflicted on Nigeria's women, men and children by the authorities supposed to protect them is shocking even to the most hardened human rights observer."
One 15-year-old boy identified as Mahmood told how soldiers arrested him with roughly 50 other mainly boys aged between 13 and 19, and held him for three weeks.
They beat him repeatedly with gun butts, batons and machetes, poured melting plastic on his back, made him walk and roll over broken bottles, and forced him to watch other detainees being executed. He was eventually released in April 2013.
"Torture happens on this scale partly because no one, including in the chain of command, is being held accountable," Mr Belay from Amnesty said.
"Nigeria needs a radical change of approach, to suspend all officers against whom there are credible allegations of torture, to thoroughly investigate those allegations and to ensure that suspected torturers are brought to justice."
There was no immediate response from the Nigerian authorities. Nigeria's government and military have responded to previous Amnesty International reports of abuses with promises to investigate.
A DFID spokesman said British aid was not directly spent on Nigeria's police or army, but was sent through independent organisations to try to improve forces' human rights records.
“Allegations of human rights violations are extremely serious and must be thoroughly investigated," the spokesman said.

TB joshua to visit south Africa in coming week- church building collapse

A guesthouse at Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations collapsed on September 12 as more floors were being constructed on top of the existing three-storey building, leaving 86 dead and dozens trapped in the debris.
It is believed that there were 349 South Africans visiting the church in the Ikotun neighbourhood of Nigeria’s megacity Lagos at the time of the collapse.
South Africa is sending a plane to Lagos to retrieve survivors of the disaster that killed 84 South Africans, South Africa’s media outlets reported.
Joshua told the congregation during his weekly morning service that he “will be travelling to South Africa to meet people from South Africa and other nations who find South Africa easier to visit, in memory of martyrs of faith.”
Joshua also observed a minute silence “in memory of martyrs of faith”.
Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan visited the church on Saturday and promised to investigate the cause of the tragedy.
He said he would hold talks with stakeholders in the construction industry on how to prevent a repeat of the tragedy, adding that he had expressed his sympathies to South African President Jacob Zuma.
Joshua, who has blamed the incident on sabotage, is one of Nigeria’s best-known evangelical preachers and is referred to by followers across the world as “The Prophet” or “The Man of God”.
He claims to work miracles, including raising people from the dead and healing the sick, and foreseeing disasters.
