BIG TALK

Do you know a high percentage of women do not climax during sex without the help of foreplay, Do you also know that some woman are so use to lying to their husbands to the extent they are beginning to believe the lies themselves all because they do not want to bruise the ego of their almighty husband.   They don't enjoy the sex and pretend to climax during it while all through the process they couldn't wait for him to finish up. Come on, why do we always do this to ourselves, have you ever seen a man who pretended to cum? I guess not, see, we are the ones punishing ourselves. All because you don't want to get him angry or because you don't want to push him away or cause you don't want him to think you're loose you decide to pretend and go with the flow, trust me he's having all the fun when he's inside you and even after cause you've made him believe he did the best job, and the funny thing is it only gets worst with time because you both will start having more responsibilities and  it's just going to turn into a quickie in bed as time goes on. Most women cant even discuss sex with their husbands. Now let me tell you the little I know about most men, when they have sex with a lady and the place is loose or She's not good at it or they are just not feeling it regardless of the fact that they got to the peak (ejaculation) they begin to think of other options, guess we all know what the options are. A Nigerian lady will say it doesn't matter, men are meant to cheat but women are suppose to stay at home and wait for them to come back and do what they know how to do best  which is to sleep, eat and do a 2mins quickie. Why did our society do this to us. When we have sex issues in our marriage we can't even discuss it with the closest person because the society has put us in a position where we can't do that. When we have sex issues with our husbands we have to wait till he does something else before we pour out our anger without letting him know the main reason why we are so upset. Some of us who have experienced the type of sex and foreplay that takes you to cloud nine know the difference from the one in which after he gets there you feel like you are just about to start but he's already snoring. We women are even so silly that we even judge other women that have extra marital affairs as if we don't have our own problems. A man cheats and other men give him a name that signifies he's the real man, a sharp one, man of honour, a woman does the same and we women  condemn her till she feels a devil lives in her, have you ever tried to sit with this women to discuss what really happened and what lead to it, are you sure you do not fantasy on your matrimonial bed about other men or your ex who knows how to do the job and does it well, don't get me wrong, am not saying women should cheat am just saying there is a motive behind every action and we women need to be there for one another. We also need to voice out about our needs, we shouldn't let them turn us into what we never thought we would be, come on. If he's not good with his stick in bed then he should be good with other parts of his body which can be used to replace the stick.
Also women should try and be neat, in fact tell  him how you care for yourself down there so he knows he's safe if he goes head down on you. While in the mood take his hands where you want to be touched and show him the rhythm, if he wants to move to other things and you still want him there tell him how much you love him and how much you will love him to continue what he was doing and how you will also satisfy him when he's done there ( you know what I mean), don't push it the first time you try this, be gentle but make him see how you love to be touched then let him have his way, being the first time you're trying this don't expect much. When you're through tell him the part you enjoyed most. Start by saying "that was a nice one baby, you made me feel like a woman and am so happy to have you , do you know the part I enjoyed most "apart from you being inside me" ( don't forget to says this one) , is when you did that and this ( I.e whatever he did that you truthfully enjoyed), if you had not stopped I would have cried out of excitement , gosh you amazed me today , love you more for that." Trust me, the next time you do it he would try harder than the first time. If you're the shy type then you need not worry, all you have to do is to send him a text when he's not with you or chat with him on phone, you can even tell him how you will handle him the next time so that the excitement is there.
Most women are not enjoying their marriage but they can't voice out so they die bit  by bit till they can't feel anything anymore and the ones that are not ready to end up like that end up doing the wrong things so you can't actually give them 100% of the blame.

I don't think have heard of any woman getting a divorce on the ground that her husband isn't giving her sexual satisfaction or he isn't even giving it to her at all, not in Nigeria. Trust me this is 70% of the reason for divorce, the others fall into the remaining 30%.

power failure in nigeria

Following the significant decline in power supply witnessed across the country in the last couple of days and the untold hardship it has brought upon Nigerians, the Federal Government, yesterday, said, “Nigerians should take heart, help is on the way.”
Speaking at the Worldstage National Electricity Power Conference, in Lagos, Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo, said the Federal Government is aware of the challenges confronting the sector and is working assiduously to address the problems.

Prof Chinedu Nebo, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Investment, Finance and Human Resources, Mr. Olajuwon Olaleye, said the Federal Government is aware that the power sector is the hub of development, and it is ensuring that all hands are on deck to bring progress to the sector.
It was stated that the Federal Government is currently putting finishing touches to ensure that the power companies are seen to be operating in an effective manner.
He further stated that they are at the second stream of the shadow trading phase, which is designed to mirror and test run all the segments of the power sector, making sure that everything is in place before the kickoff of the TEM.
He maintained that the transmission section of the power sector needs a total investment of $7.7 billion over the next couple of years for the maintenance of the transmission grid, while the distribution and generation sections needs an investment of $5 billion annually to drive growth in the power sector, making possible for the country to attain all the targets for the sector.
The investment is important, because as the generating capacity of the country is being upgraded in the next couple of months, the wheeling capacity of the transmission facility also needs to be upgraded to be able to deliver power to every nooks and crannies of the country.
Also speaking, Mr. Aderemi Bello, President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, bemoaned the epileptic power situation in the country, saying that, “the sector is critical to Nigeria’s economic development and all hands should be on deck to ensure it is fixed.”
He further stated that there are concerns that the successor companies did not conduct due diligence before buying into the power companies, in addition to the funding challenges confronting the companies.
According to him, the Nigerian financial system cannot support the funding structure of the power sector due to the long term gestation period for the power projects, high interest rates and legacy debts.
He further expressed concern that the top management of the successor companies has little experience on how the sector is run, while there is no proper framework to ensure a meaningful level of local content.
He disclosed that investors in the power sector are grappling with a lot of challenges beyond their control, noting however, that efforts should be made to tackle the challenges, as this will ensure that the sector is fixed and also make the country competitive

BIG TALK

NIGERIA a place where women are bullied into getting married. Ask me why I said that, guess you are really very curious. Well in Nigeria people around you make your decisions for you without you knowing it because they make it seem like it's your idea.Take for instance, it's a popular belief in Nigeria that when you're of certain age as a woman you should be married regardless of if you're emotionally or even literally ready for it. When you are 18 and you have a boyfriend in Nigeria your parents are against it and do everything possible to stop the relationship forgetting everything is a process. Tell me how possible it is for you to graduate from the university with a good grade without going through the process. Trust me even if you cheated or the exams wasn't written by you, you still passed through the process cause you still had to move from one level to the other. Now as an 18 year old girl you know left from right and trust me as Nigerians we know way more than we ought to know at that age. For you to now tell her not to have a boy friend means you're telling her she's not responsible or she can't make good decisions for herself . At this age I for one think all she needs is guidance else she will try to do it behind your back just to prove you wrong. What you  need do for her is be her friend and guide her through life by telling her life experiences and letting her see right from wrong. Imagine giving your child sex education, telling her about the danger of being with the opposite sex but not telling her about the fun part, I know you must be saying 'is she crazy', well, am not. I feel it's better to be truthful with our kids when it comes to sex- This is what I mean, when you tell your child why it's not good to have sex at a tender age tell them that -"sex is sweet but it's best enjoyed when you're older and with the right person, the reason am saying this to you is because when you're of age you can recognize the right person to have it with without having any regret and having it with the right person at the right time is the fun part. Any guy you're dating feels like the right  person but do you know the right person and the only person worthy is that guy that loves you enough to go on his kneels to propose to you and take you to the alter, imagine yourself sharing that moment with him, you will never stop talking about it forever and he will forever cherish that moment, anytime he remembers he will worship you and never want to leave you. Now imagine yourself having given yourself to a guy you didn't end up with, he's with another person just as you are with another"( well I prefer this to the usually line of sex is not good). My reason is this, at this age all we want is to have fun and for a mother to tell her child the danger in having sex and not tell her the fun stuffs is foolish because she will go out there, get the information you omitted on her own and misinterpret it. The guy tells her what you didn't and even encourages her to try just to show her the fun in it, she tries it and she's like wow this is nice then she's like mum or aunt or dad is a liar she must have lied about the other things. This is just one of the mistakes we make in Nigeria and some other parts of the world. When she's in the university you keep saying study hard forget about boys for now, really? When their are so many cute boys around giving her attention and she's already feeling the heat. When she graduates and she gets a job you jump at her that she isn't getting any younger so she should think of settling down, wow, the same girl who doesn't know much about relationship is expected to get married. Of cause she will meet a guy she believes is cool and nice and get married, but don't judge her if things doesn't go well and she gets a divorce or she stays married and she's not happy. Now this is common in Nigeria , most of those who stay married are the ones who are scared of the stigmatization  that comes with divorce. Trust me, most married women are not happy. They might not accept it, but deep inside them they know am right. A lady who doesn't know much about boys is expected to be a fulfilled woman in marriage based on the training she got from home, come on, apart from teaching her how to take care of the house did you teach her how to take care of her man? Did you teach her what to say to him when he's not feeling the relationship or how to spice up her relationship, let's not forget she doesn't have much experience in that area and they are both young they do not have the patience of teaching each other . See everything in life is a process, you cant have a degree without waiting for the number of years you're suppose to wait for so also you can't be happy in a marriage if you know nothing about relationships.
The next type of lady, is the one who is a graduate between age 27-35and has been in different relationships but for some reasons not married . This might be due to the mistakes her parents made while bringing her up in the sense that she might not know how to keep a man probably because she wants to jump from no experience with relationships to having a serious relationship and we all know men don't like the "I want a serious relationship" type of lady, they always want things to move gradually else they feel rushed.Trust me, the idea behind having experience in relationships is not just for sex but to also discover yourself. In every relationship you learn different things, you know the similarities and difference between different men which will help shape you into choosing the right one for you. See, you can't know the difference between eba, amala and semolina until you have a taste of it , just like the Yoruba proverb which says " we can never know if a soup is sweet till we taste it" which brings us to the fact that looks can be deceptive. Let's go back to the main issue, so at this age she's being pressurized by everyone around her to settle down, her parents her friends her colleagues and lets just say the society as a whole will bully her, telling her age is not on her side and no matter how strong she is she will eventually succumb and go for the next available  guy, trust me , she just made the biggest mistake of her life. At this stage the problems are too many to be put in here , it goes on and on, from being bullied by her husband, to being beaten, to not being allowed to do the type of job she loves, to not being allowed to do what she loves to do at her spare time, to not being respected, to not getting sexual satisfaction and the list goes on. Please feel free to drop your comment.

A teenager is alleged to have killed her newborn baby and then burned its body so her parents wouldn’t find out she had been pregnant.

Alexandra Olaru, 17, gave birth while her parents were out. she then suffocated the baby with a pillow before throwing the body into a wood burner.

Friend Iona Bibesco said: ‘No one knew she was pregnant, she didn’t look it and she didn’t tell anyone.

‘We only found out when she came to school the next day and told us what had happened.

‘At first we thought she was making up some sick sort of joke, but as she went into more detail we began to realise it was probably true.’

Her friends in Gorj County, Romania, reported what they had heard to a school teacher who then contacted the police.

Prosecutor spokesman Emil Mota said: ‘When questioned by police the young woman admitted everything she had done and gave all the details.

‘Immediately after she gave birth she killed the newborn and set it on fire.

‘She said she was afraid her parents would find out she was pregnant and be angry.’

Her father, local councillor Marcel Olaru, told reporters: ‘I just found out about this when the police arrived at our home.

‘We knew she had been in a relationship and had actually got married. But that finished and she came back to live with us.

‘But we had absolutely no idea she was pregnant nor that she had gone to such terrible measures to keep it from us.’

Prosecutors say the girl is currently undergoing psychological and psychiatric tests.

If found sane, she will be charged with murder and faces a life sentence.

A politician arrested for alleged pipeline vandalism

A59-year-old suspected vandal  was arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism in Ogun State.

Officer in charge of the task force, Friday Ibadin, who identified the suspect as Wahab Junaid, said he was arrested at Ifote village in Obafemi/ Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

He said: “ On September 15, detectives acted on an intelligence report that Junaid was back and currently operating with his boys at Ogere, Ogun State.
“Detectives, led by Ogere sector commander, ASP Shakwallo Philemon, stormed the area and arrested him. We are still on the trail of his accomplices who are still on the run. He would soon be charged to court. “
During interrogation, the suspect, popularly known as Doctor, disclosed that he usually bought a truck load of siphoned petroleum product from vandals for N1.5 million and sold for N3 million.
Junaid, who admitted to have been arrested thrice before now, said: “I swear, after I regained freedom in 2012, I stopped everything that has to do with pipeline vandalisation. But politics lured me back to it.

‘My objectives’
“I am an active member of All Progressives Congress, APC, and the slot for the House of Representative was zoned to my area, Ibeju Lekki constituency.
“I am one of those who have best opportunities to contest and win the election.
“I was told to go and look for money to sponsor my campaigns. I am a graduate. I read Botanical Science and Animal Rearing. I am a veterinary doctor. Unfortunately, people no longer patronise us and I had to change my profession.
“Since I did not have enough money to sponsor myself, I called my friend, one Oloje, a vandal, who told me that the area was calm and suggested that I could come and load some trucks.
“I was actually waiting at the designated point with the trucks with which to lift the product when policemen arrested me.

Arrest history
“ I was arrested in 2008 by the Task Force but was discharged and acquitted. In 2010, I was also arrested at Epe, but also regained freedom after several months.
“Again, I was arrested in 2012 over a similar offence by policemen from FESTAC Division. As usual, I was arraigned in court. But through the help of my lawyer, I was able to secure my freedom.
“I suspect that my enemies, who are bitter that I was anointed to fly the APC flag for Ibeju Lekki constituency at the House of Representatives in 2015 have a hand in this.
“As I speak to you, no one knows that I have been arrested. Please forgive me and give me another chance to represent my people in the House of Representatives.”

US sends medical experts to study how Nigeria tamed Ebola

United States’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention has despatched its personnel to study how Nigeria contained the killer disease.

The US reported on Tuesday that it has discovered a case of EVD in Dallas, Texas, but its health officials said “the crisis is under control and the public has nothing to fear.”
A statement released by US CDC Director Tom Frieden said “it’s clear the nation needs a quick and thorough response to its first Ebola patient”
He said although Nigeria was not completely out of the woods, “their extensive response to a single case of Ebola shows that control is possible with rapid, focused interventions.”

Frieden said “the best practices in Nigeria and Senegal suggest the U.S. should monitor all individuals who may have been exposed to Ebola and establish a dedicated management and response system.”

US health officials are expected in Nigeria which it claimed had the best practices in combating Ebola Virus disease. Nigeria is expected to officially announce today that the remaining two potential Ebola patients will exit the 21-day observation period.
How Nigeria stopped the spread of Ebola
According to US CDC, “Nigeria’s first reported case of Ebola surfaced July 20, when Patrick Sawyer landed in Lagos from Liberia and exposed 72 other passengers to the virus. Nigeria’s Health officials quickly issued notifications and tracked everybody who may have been in contact with Sawyer.
“Nigeria also established an Ebola Incident Management Center to handle the potential outbreak and developed a staffing plan that executed a social mobilization strategy that reached more than 26,000 households of people living around the contacts of Ebola patients,"

Panic in America
The man who imported Ebola into US was found to have travelled to Liberia without informing the authorities and did not disclose the nature of his ailment to the nurse that attended to him. Reports from Texas yesterday said that the Nurse who attended to the man has also taken ill for Ebola in Texas.
A spokesman for Texas Health Presbyterian said the patient had walked into a Dallas emergency room on September 26, without knowing that he contacted the deadly virus and left after he was treated. He then returned to the facility on September 28 where it was determined he likely had Ebola and was isolated. He tested positive Tuesday, health officials said.
Following the lapse on the part of the hospital officials, questions are being asked amid panic across the country. The CDC has thus advised that all medical facilities should ask for patients with symptoms consistent with Ebola for their travel history.

A woman with 55lbs tumour

Yuan, 35, has tumours all over her body but by far the largest was one that covered her back and right leg down to her ankle.

Doctors have now performed a successful 10-hour surgery to remove this tumour, which weighed 55lbs.

When Yuan was born she was covered with brown marks all over the body but due to family poverty never saw a doctor.

Ten years ago the tumour on her back and right hip started to grow extremely quickly, exerting pressure to her spine and finally distorting it.

In the recent months the tumour has grown to weigh even more than Yuan, making it hard for her to move.

Yuan never went to school and is an illiterate.

She earns her life by polishing shoes on the roadside and has become used to the way people react to her.

EASA- Mobile phones in airplane

Airlines flying European skies have been cleared to allow passengers’ use of mobile phones and portable electronic devices (PEDs) throughout flights.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said mobiles, smartphones and PEDs could be used after airlines follow a safety assessment process.

Before now, devices had to be turned off or placed in “airplane mode”.

Tinubu- october1

Senator Oluremi Tinubu  who shares the same birth year with Nigeria, said in a statement, in Abuja, on Tuesday that this year’s occasion offers yet another opportunity for us as a people, to re-examine our ways and re-commit to being part of birthing a new Nigeria.
The legislator equally noted that it is also a time for us all to ponder on what Nigeria has to show for its 54 years, in terms of development in education, infrastructure, security, healthcare delivery, agriculture along with other areas that touch the lives of millions of our citizens.
She also said: “Our situation is further compounded by the fact that many do not know where the next meal will come from and countless university graduates roam the streets in search of non-existent jobs. No doubt, Nigeria’s situation is quite worrisome.”

She described that citizens’ dreams of imminent greatness on the eve of independence have been replaced by daily horrors. Millions are internally-displaced as refugees in their fatherland while increasing rates of armed robbery, road accidents, kidnapping and other horrible factors continue to cause much pain for many Nigerian families.
“Surely, for most citizens, official insensitivity to worsening insecurity, palpable mass poverty and the masses’ daily struggle for survival makes it difficult to partake in celebrations.” She said.
She also said there is nothing wrong with seeking re-election, only if the nation’s elected officials are focused on the interest of the ordinary people.
She stressed that it will not be a selfish quest if it is a people-focused government that values the interest of the people by creating jobs, implementing social security to take care of the elderly and other vulnerable groups while giving all a true sense of belonging.
She urger Nigerians to ensure that as we approach coming elections, we make a resolute decision to cast our vote for change.
She said this is necessary for our nation to make progress and rise towards achieving long overdue development that would benefit all.

Boko haram:Attacks Michika and Madagali local government in Adamawa

No fewer than 500 houses in the two communities were destroyed even as the insurgents are in full control of Michika and madagali local governments of Adamawa state.
Local villagers told  Vanguard in a telephone interview on Monday from their hideouts that the absence of Military personnel in Michika and its environs has completely dampened the hope of the people that the insurgents will be wiped out soonest.
“ Since the complete take-over of Michika and Madagali by the insurgents on the 7th of September 2014, no single soldier is noticed in Michika Community. The only thing we hear is Jet fighters that come from Yola to drop bombs and go back. Our people are in the state of complete helplessness .
Government seems not to be coming to our aids as the insurgents control everything in our local government” the villagers lamented.
According to them, the insurgents are having filed days killing and maiming our people as nobody is allow to bury the dead leaving their bodies at the mercies of vultures and pigs.
The villagers alleged that it is only Vimtim, the hometown of the Chief of Defence Staff, Air marshal Alex Badeh that has been fortified by the military, giving an impression that the CDS hometown is more important than the entire Madagali and the Michika local government areas.
They called on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency to deploy military personnel to the affected areas to give the people a sense of belonging that they are Nigerians.
The people Michika faulted the actions of the political class iin the state, whom they accused of abandoning them at their trying periods

President jonathan pettioned over the killing of 31 year old graduate

The police had tagged the engineering graduate an armed robbery suspect, an allegation his family denied.
Chukwuma reportedly died in detention six days after he was arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Enugu State Police Command.
It was, however, gathered that few months after, the police authorities, after an investigation from the force headquarters, found out that the deceased was not an armed robber.
Spokesperson of the family, Mr. Chinedu Ihezie, said that although police had asked them to go and bury their son, it would be difficult to do so as Enugu State Police Command had turned down a request for autopsy.
The letter, addressed to President Jonathan, was copied to the Senate President, David Mark; Mathew Omegara, representing Okigwe North federal constituency, House of Representatives; Chairman, Police Service Commission; the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command; and the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission, Abuja.
The letter, signed by Chinedu Ihezie on behalf of the family of the deceased, is praying President Jonathan to prevail on the Police authorities to, among other things, arrest and investigate the officers involved in the matter.
Contacted, the Police image-maker, Enugu State Com-mand, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, said: “I am not aware of the incident. Send me the details and I will look into it.”
It also requested conduct of a genuine post-mortem examination on Chukwuma’s corpse and release of his corpse for burial.
The letter read in part: “Chukwuma Ihezie, a native of Umuozu Ezumoha in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State, born in 1983.
“Our heart is bleeding, our hope is in God Almighty through you. The future hope and light of the family has been so extinguished. We humbly cry unto you sir.
“On January 12, Chukwuma went for his normal cab work and was arrested by Independence Layout, Enugu policemen for picking a passenger whom the police falsely labelled an armed robber.
“He was kept under detention in their station under a DPO (names withheld). He was later transferred to Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, office by Zakari Yau, along with his handwritten statement. On January 18, Chukwuma was shot on the spinal cord and killed by SARS without a fair hearing in any court of law and his corpse dumped in UNTH, Ituku Ozala, Enugu, mortuary on Saturday, January 18.
“Chukwuma was killed to cover up a secret, which could have been unveiled if he was allowed to talk.”

Nigerian Army will set up another court-martial to try its erring officers and soldiers

The court martial, which will be inaugurated tomorrow, at the Command Army Officers Mess, Abuja, has Colonel M. S. Yusuf, as president of the court while Lieutenant-Colonel Ukpe-Ukpe will serve as judge advocate.

The army authorities were said to have advised the affected officers and soldiers to make arrangement for their legal counsel to defend them on the charges slammed on them.

Sources hinted that even though members of the court-martial would be officially inaugurated tomorrow, the court would not sit until after about two weeks because of the public holidays declared by the Federal Government for the Sallah celebrations.

Similar court-martial is going on at various divisions and units of the Nigerian Army across the country for various offenses including indiscipline, information leakage to terrorists, failure to advance and perform military duties, acts of cowardice, negligence and other attitudes unbecoming of soldiers.

A top army officer discussed the incessant acts of cowardice displayed by some soldiers deployed to fight insurgency in the North East, saying some of them abandoned their weapons and even pulled off their uniforms when they came face-to-face with the terrorists.

This singular act, according to the officer, was responsible for the criticism of the military by Nigerians that Boko Haram insurgents were better armed than the military.

“What do you expect when some soldiers abandon their weapons and uniform on sighting Boko Haram terrorists? Of course, the result is that you end up increasing their armoury and giving them the guts to want to dare our troops.

“The Boko Haram insurgents boast that they have the capability to engage our soldiers for the next 45 years, simply because they are in possession of some of our weapons. But, I bet you, all that will change in a matter of hours, trust me,” he said.

Some soldiers who absconded from their units on hearing that they were going to be deployed to the zone, were also going to face court-martial

OMG Beyonce had a wardrobe malfunction

Beyonce might have danced a little too hard this weekend and ended up accidentally flashing the crowd.
The international pop star suffered the rather embarrassing wardrobe malfunction as she graced the stage with husband Jay Z during Saturday night's Global Citizen Festival in New York City, after busting out some vigorous dance moves.
As she appeased the audience with her typical enthusiastic stage presence, the mother-of-one's lacy blouse burst open, revealing her flesh-coloured bra mid-way through the performance.

Boko haram: 1200 Nigeria security personnel in Russia for training

This was reported on vanguard, i think Nigeria is now taking this whole boko haram thing serious.
About 1,200 Nigerian security personnel including members of the Armed Forces, the police and members of the Department of State Services, DSS, have so far left Abuja for anti-insurgent training in Russia.
Their departure for training as Special Forces, security sources said, followed alleged snub or  nonchalant attitude of both the United Kingdom and United States towards Nigeria in her fight against Boko Harm terrorists.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that 400 security personnel left the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in a chattered aircraft at about 5pm weekend, accompanied by top security officers as well as Russian instructors who had been in the country to part of the initial selection process for the officers and men that would take part in the training.
It was further revealed that two other batches of 400 troops each had earlier departed for the training, bringing the total number of officers so far to about 1,200.
Saturday Vanguard had exclusively reported that following the dithering of the some western nations especially, notably Britain and the United States of America over the training of Nigerian security personnel to confront the Boko Haram insurgents, the Federal Government had decided to turn to Russia to meet some of its immediate security needs pending the resolution of the diplomatic difference between Nigeria and the two Western countries.
According to sources the latest batch of Nigerian security personnel are joining three batches of their colleagues who had left for training in Russia earlier this year.
The last group would be in Russia for four months before returning to the countryearly next year to form a nucleus of the Special Forces Brigade to be set up by the country.
A similar scenerio played out when Nigeria faced sanctions following the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential elections won by the late Moshood Abiola by the then Military  government led by late General Sani Abacha as the Federal Government turned to China and India for its miltary needs.
The emerging scenario in the fight against terror and the steps Nigeria’s government has taken would have resulted in global sensation during the cold war as the West would have fought to keep her allies to the then Soviet Union as now represented by Russia which has, although, embraced free market economy.
Nigeria, for years, enjoyed close ties with the West and was seen as a US ally. But the seeming nonchalant attitude towards it by its traditional allies has reportedly compelled the country to turn to Russia and China for the training of its military as well as acquisition of military hardware to fight Boko Haram.
However, highly placed military and intelligence sources told Saturday Vanguard in Abuja that the decision to turn to the other two world military powers was an interim measure to roll back the advances made by the Boko Haram insurgents who have gained some grounds in seizing and controlling some towns and villages in the north eastern states of Borno and Adamawa before the latest defeat suffered by the insurgents in the last two weeks due to the increased performance of Nigerian troops, leading to the killing of the insurgents leader, Abubakar Shekau.
Following the increasing sophistication of the tactics employed by the Boko Haram terrorists, the Nigerian government had reportedly approached both the US and British governments to procure arms for its armed forces in order to effectively counter the insurgents but the two governments continued to dither, a situation that might have been responsible for some of the gains recorded by terrorists in recent times.
A senior security official told Saturday Vanguard: “the United States and Britain appear unwilling to provide arms to our armed forces. It is surprising because these are two friendly countries to Nigeria which is under threat from terrorists. We have no option but to look somewhere else for our needs pending when the issues are resolved at the diplomatic level by our government.”
However, Russia which has always been willing to supply weapons and some other logistics to Nigeria when other western countries are not forthcoming readily accepted the Nigerian proposal as the Nigeria Air Force, NAF, has several Russian fighter jets in its fleet.
Already, Nigeria has entered into contract with Russian arms manufacturers for the supply of high calibre weapons to the Nigerian Army to combat the insurgents in the North east and has also begun discussion with the Israeli government on possible supply of military hardware.
“When the Chief of Army staff said recently that the Nigerian army would soon take possession of weapons that would reverse the trend in the North east, he was referring to the deal between Nigeria and some Russian arms manufacturers. We are also in discussion with Israeli companies. We don’t want to be held ransom by our traditional allies. That is why we are expanding our sources of supply,” the source said.

Amber Rose custody issue

From the moment we learned that Amber Rose had filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa, we assumed the split would get messy.

The couple had been married just over a year; there were accusations of infidelity on both sides; and - perhaps the biggest red flag of all - Amber requested sole custody of her and Wiz' one-year-old son, Sebastian.

Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa: Through the Years...

1. Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose Wedding Photo
Amber Rose posted this happy wedding photo to wish Wiz Khalifa a very happy birthday.
We learned today that Amber will receive $1 million under the terms of the couple's prenup, but sources close to the proceedings say the fight between the soon-to-be exes is just getting started.

Wiz has refused to agree to Amber's custody arrangement (which would limit him to visitation rights), and is said to be challenging her for joint custody.

He'll probably get his wish, as in most California court cases, shared custody is generally considered to be in the child's best interest, unless one party can prove that the other is an unfit parent.

Requests for sole custody are often taken as acts of revenge, and that's widely believed to be the case with Amber. But if she's sitting on some damaging information about Wiz' parenting, things could quickly get even messier than they already are.

Rose has accused Khalifa of cheating, but that's hardly enough to strip him of parental rights.

Khalifa is clearly determined to remain in his son's life, as the custody issue is the only matter on which he's fighting Rose. In addition to the lump sum $1 million payment, Khalifa has agreed to pay Rose $5,000 a month in child support.

opium in noodle dish

A Chinese restaurant owner has admitted he grinds opium in his trademark noodle dish, so customers would keep coming back for more.

Zhang confessed to police after one of his regular customers tested positive for opium during a routine traffic stop earlier this month.

Zhang said that he had purchased 4.4lbs of poppy buds for $100 (N16,000) in August and had been crushing them and adding them to the noodles to ‘make it taste better and to improve his business’.

ARFH- liberalization of abortion

The Association for Reproductive and Family Health has called on the Federal Government to liberalise abortion law in Nigeria to make sure that women have safe abortion without risking their lives.

Quoting from the Nigerian Demographic Health Survey 2013, the organization said the maternal mortality ratio is 576 per 100,000 births while “approximately 10,000 Nigerian women, single and married, die annually from unsafe clandestine abortion, many in the prime of their lives.”

The ARFH said women “who survive unsafe abortion may have genital trauma, bleeding, anaemia, emotional and psychiatric sequelae, chronic pelvis pain, menstrual problems and tubal factor infertility.”

The association added that countries which have liberalised their abortion laws value the life of their citizens more than others still living in the past.

The President/CEO of ARFH, Prof. Oladapo Ladipo, made the request in a statement issued in Abuja in commemoration of this year’s “Global Day of Action for Access to Safe and Legal Abortion.”

According to him, rather than public health consideration of abortion legislation and provision of services, the issue of induced abortion has been dominated more by people’s attitudes and emotions.

He said, “Nigeria should learn from some developed countries who have liberalised their law. For example in UK, no induced abortion related death has been reported since 1972 while in Netherlands liberal law on induced abortion is associated with low rates of abortion because of comprehensive and universal sex education in schools and access to family planning for adolescent and adult males and females.

“There is wisdom in liberalising the Nigerian abortion law and also make available the technology, both medical and surgical, to ensure that women have access to safe abortion services without sacrificing their lives prematurely or having their fertility compromised. Universal access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and quality services would enable individual to live healthier lives and contribute to better global health.

“No woman enjoys subjecting herself to induced abortion, unfortunate circumstances that range from major health reasons, foetal abnormally, rape or social reasons compel them to take the risk.”

Ladipo added that the issue of induced abortion remains divisive in public life, with recurring arguments to liberalise or to restrict access to legal abortions services.

“Women have the right to choose. Do the men who impregnate these girls and women value their lives? Is there any punishment for any man who is responsible for unplanned pregnancy? Is the currently restrictive abortion law in Nigeria a sign of gender discrimination and social injustice? Should we have a national debate or referendum?

“In Nigeria today, the maternal mortality ratio is 576 per 100,000 birth (NDHS 2013) and approximately10,000 Nigerian women single and married die annually from unsafe clandestine abortion, many in the prime of their lives.”.

ARFH recalled that during the latter part of the 19th century and well into the 20th century, abortion laws were restrictive in most countries in the western hemisphere and these laws and attitudes were exported overseas during the colonial expansion.

The association stated that restrictive Nigeria’s 1861 abortion law that still exist today reflects that history.

30 boko haram killed in camp shoot out

Thirty Boko  Haram fighters killed one another yesterday in Madagali, Adamawa State during a leadership tussle over who should succeed Abubakar Shekau, shot dead by the Nigerian military last week.Madagali is one of local government areas of Adamawa State occupied by the insurgents. This is even as about 21 people were killed by terrorists in an attack on two Borno communities on Wednesday.
In the Madagali incident, trapped residents said a fight occurred over the disagreement on whether to pick a new leader or surrender to the military which killed their Amir (leader) in Bazza.

“From what we learnt, 30 Boko Haram fighters have been killed in Madagali town after a fight ensued between them over whether to surrender their weapons. They just kept shooting themselves freely,” one Mr Musa Audi told Daily Sun. According to him, there had been disquiet in Boko Haram camp with some calling and agitating for a ceasefire.

Another resident, simply called Stephen, who corroborated Musa, said already, there is also leadership crisis over who should emerge the new leader in Madagali. For almost three weeks now, Madagali, Gulak, Shuwa and Michika towns have been under the control of Boko Haram.”

He said residents told him anybody who violates the rules have his/her fingers cut off or flogged according to the offence .

“They cut-off fingers, flog offenders and marry off spinsters.” The military spokesman in Yola, Capt. Jonathan Nuhu, was yet to react to the development as at press time.

Meanwhile, a security source in Borno State said the insurgents who rode to Shaffa and Shindiffu in Hawul Local Government, launched the coordinated attacks at about 10pm on Wednesday, lasting till midnight.

The source said the insurgents shot sporadically as soon as they arrived in the communities, about 230 kilometres from the capital, Maiduguri. The development forced hundreds of people from their homes into the bush even as the insurgents pursued the residents and opened fire on them.

About 21 people including one Pastor Eliud Mshelizza attached to the local assembly of Living Faith Church (aka Winners’ Chapel) and a teacher at Government Girls’ Secondary School, Shaffa died in the attacks,” a resident of Biu, who lost a family member told Daily Sun. He said the insurgents burnt public buildings, hospital, churches and many houses in both communities.

However, a military source said soldiers from the Biu Artillery and neighbouring Adamawa State were mobilised to repel the attack, adding that the insurgents were intercepted on the way by the soldiers who engaged them in fierce battle. “Our troops rounded up the terrorists and almost all of them were killed,” the source said.

The southern part of Borno has witnessed series of attacks since April when insurgency heightened in the state. Wednesday’s attack was the third time Shaffa came under Boko Haram siege, leaving tales of woes; death and destruction of property

$9.3 million: Fashola- this has made Nigeria a subject of ridicule

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola  (SAN).The governor, who spoke at the 2014 Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Colloquium held at the University of Lagos, Yaba, lamented the death of  late legal icon, saying he would have put the Federal Government on its toes on the issue.
He  said: “The issue has made us mere stuff worldwide. And this happened because of the value choices that we have made. Let us stop pointing fingers at those people, you all voted for them. They are representatives of the values we have chosen to live with.

“Will Gani have stood by and watch without demanding an explanation on how the money was spent. And how N2 trillion was spent on oil subsidy without appropriation.  Also, how would he have reacted to the stories of the disappearance of the $20 billion or $49 billion depending on what side you believe?,” Fashola querried.

The governor also said the central government has not been consistent on sensitive issues concerning its citizens, especially the continuous abduction of the Chibok girls.

According to him, the Federal Government was not consistent with information on the abducted female students and the attack on the Bama community, saying “Nigeria deserves to know the current state of the issues.”

He  said: “At one moment, the information was that the girls were not abducted. Later, we were told by the Federal Government that they now know where the girls were kept.

“Few months later, the same government came out to inform its citizens that the girls have been recovered. And in few minutes, they (Federal Government) backtracked on its information.

“Over the last few days, similar incident occurred in Bama and the report from that place was that insurgency has taken over power. The media organisations who reported it were castigated. The reason was that they reported that Bama had been ceded. And a few days later, there was another report that Bama had been recaptured.”

He said, “I know that these are difficult times for the country, but we have the right to know. And we are not saying that the government should reveal all the information at its disposal. But there must be some consistency of conduct. That was why every 100 days; I report the situation of the state to the residents whom I believe elected me into office.”

Also in attendance at the colloquium were the former military governor of Lagos State, Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, leading lawyer, Prof Itse Sagay, among others

9ice- The reason behind my agenda

9ice who is going into politics had this to say to
TS in a recent interview.
How did you start your musical career?

I started like every other person; when you don’t have any work to do, you would roam the streets searching for one thing or the other to do. When boys and girls have nothing to do, they begin doing things together looking for talents in themselves. That was how I discovered my talent in singing and I pursued it as a dream, and today, I have been able to achieve that dream.

Why do you always lace your music with Yoruba proverbs?

I grew up with my stepmother and I count myself lucky, because whenever her friends came around for a visit, I usually listened to their conversations. They used to speak in parables a lot, so I must have picked one or two things from them. When I started singing, I inculcated some of the proverbs into my music, and they were widely accepted by my fans.

What are the challenges you’ve encountered in your career?

When I first started my musical career, it was so tough and rough because no parent wanted to see his or her child take music as a career. Then, I stayed with my stepmother and I hid my career from my parents and siblings, because they believed that music was for touts and never-do-well in the society. But now, things have changed, parents now want their children to go into music. When my parents saw my first album, they called my attention to it and said they will support me henceforth. Though, it has not been easy financially, I bless the name of God for seeing me through.

What are your achievements so far as a musician?

My achievement has been so wonderful, at least I have seven albums to my credit, which my fans love, and I have also won seven awards. I give credit to my friends and fans because they are the ones buying my albums. They are the ones that make me get some money from my shows, and I bless the name of God for it.

Your poster is everywhere indicating your interest in politics, why are you quitting music for politics?

Yes, I want to leave music for politics. Next year January, I will be 35-years-old and I’m not praying to still be in music at that age. I am serious about politics now. If you listen to my music, you would notice that politics has been part of me; it’s in my blood. When I started initially, I talked about being your brother’s keeper, and that’s why I studied Law at Lagos State University before I dropped out to concentrate on my music career. I hate when things go wrong. When two or three people are having issues, I love to get there to settle their differences. I have passion for politics and it has always been in my blood.

You and your producer, I D Cabassa are reported to be at loggerheads, what’s your relationship with him now?

There is a confusion going on that I had a quarrel with my producer, I D Cabassa. I’ve had a good relationship with him since I met him. In life, there are things that people don’t seem to understand, any artiste can have so many producers that he or she wants, and when the album comes out, you can put any of the names you like as your producer. It’s not a crime if the producer has done well or not but it’s a matter of choice. I never had any fight with I D Cabassa; I don’t know where people get their information. Presently, I am working with ID Cabassa and Puffy T on a project and they have been so wonderful.

If you go fully into politics, most of your friends and fans will miss you?

I will say they will love me more by the time they see the plans that I have for them. I have so many plans on my mind. Imagine if the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was a politician, he will not just criticize the mistakes of our leaders but also correct them. Imagine if Wole Soyinka was to be the president of this nation, people like him are only preaching the truth and criticising the government but they are not ready to get into politics to make corrections. I am tired of preaching, I want to contribute my own quota for the sake of my people. We have graduates riding commercial motorcycles (okada), selling meat etc, their certificates are not being used but they are shouting that the government is not doing well. There can’t be any change if the youths don’t stand-up now to do something to help the country.

Who is Tony Payne to you?

She’s nothing more than we have kid for each other.

Recently, Tony Payne says every political aspirant is looking for what to eat, are you sure she’s not referring to you?

Hmmm, if it is because of what I want to eat, so be it. Thank God I can drink my garri in the afternoon and eat beans at night without any stress. I can even drive my car to wherever I want to go. I can go to my friends’ houses to watch DStv, even if I don’t have it in my house, glory be to God. 1 Kings 19:7 says: ‘and the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee’. I don’t allow anything or anybody that might want to distract me in my journey, because the journey is too far. It’s not about what I want to eat but what I want to contribute to the development of my people.

What are your plans when you eventually become a legislator?

I come from Ogbomosho North Local Government Area, which is my constituency; we have other local government areas populated by farmers. They have maize farms but they don’t have good roads and water. 80 per cent of the farmers still use cutlasses and hoes. If they are given tractors and they are introduced to modern farming techniques, they will not only cater for themselves but they will also cater for people in other parts of the country. Even if it is only onions that they plant, so many states will benefit. Aside from Ekiti and Ondo States, I have never seen any other western state that is more educated than Ogbomosho. But after their education, the people still go back to ride commercial motorcycles, engage in farming, transportation etc. For youth empowerment and employment, I am going to organise workshops where people can learn many things like how to make soaps, toiletries, threads, candles, fashion designing, hairdressing, catering, electronics, carpentry etc. Immediately, they complete their training, we are going to give them some money to start up their businesses. We are going to make provisions for LAUTECH students because they don’t have hostels; we are going to provide accommodation at a cheaper rate. We will also provide transportation for them. There would be scholarships for primary and secondary school students including free transportation. In my constituency, WAEC fees will be paid for students. I will donate my salary for four years to widows and people who cannot work again, I will give them stipends every month.

You are coming out under the umbrella of APC, have you been nominated as their candidate?

No, but every member of the party is eligible to aspire for any position; it is now left for the party to choose or to go by election. Six of us are going for the same position under APC. The party will decide on how the candidate will emerge.

Let’s pray that you win, but assuming you didn’t win, how would you feel? Would you go back to your music?

My own politics is not a do-or-die; if my party refuses to pick me, life goes on. I will still support the person that won. I’m not doing what I cannot afford to do. Thank God, I am not owing any bank or anybody money, I can’t do something that I cannot afford, so I have no problem. But it will be recorded that Aboloore Akande vied for this post but didn’t win. People will know that I am not a spectator but a participant. For what I will do if the primary didn’t favour me, hum, I will go into business or any other thing that will give me money. Or better still, I will get back to my music career or talk to one of my friends to employ me in his company. Nothing do me, I am a Nigerian that knows how to struggle.

Kim K: North west treated to the first fashion show of her life

North was showing support to her rapper dad by wearing a tshirt emblazoned with 'Yeezus', the name of Kanye's tour.

Mum Kim had ensured the trio were coordinating, with all three wearing all-black ensembles.

Kim was channelling Parisian chic in a black poloneck, long-sleeved top and black trousers. Kanye, meanwhile, wore a velvet baggy jumper and ripped jeans.

TB joshua- two South Africans told BBC they intend to sue

Two South Africans who lost relatives when a church hostel in Lagos collapsed have told the BBC they intend to sue Nigerian evangelist TB Joshua.
The two men, who both lost sisters in the collapse, are appealing for more families to come together in bringing a case against the preacher.
At least 115 people, including 84 South Africans, died when the multi-storey building fell down earlier this month.
The authorities say it had more floors than its foundation could hold.
'No news'
On Sunday, Mr Joshua, who is one of Nigeria's best-known evangelists and is popular across Africa, announced plans to travel to South Africa to visit the families of the deceased.

Officials suspect the foundations were not suitable for extra floors to be added to the building
Emergency workers allege they were prevented from participating in the rescue, only gaining full access to the site on Sunday afternoon - accusations denied by Pastor Joshua's Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN).
Thanduxolo Doro and Mpho Molebatsi waited at Johannesburg's OR Tambo airport for days after the collapse for news of their sisters, who had been visiting SCOAN.
Both families had last heard from their relatives hours before the collapse, which happened at about 13:50 local time (12.50 GMT) on Friday 12 September.
"It is not that the building collapsed, rather what was done after the collapse - we didn't get any news from the church," Mr Doro, whose sister Vathiswa Madikiza died, told the BBC.
"When I contacted them they wouldn't tell me anything. We saw reports that emergency workers were denied access initially, access that could have saved lives. The actions of the church after the incident are very telling," he said.

Woman gives birth on toilet during lunch break

A nursery worker had the surprise of her life when she gave birth three months early on the toilet - during her LUNCH BREAK.

Hannah Brown, 27, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, said the day started off like any other as she headed to the Tree Tops Nursery where she is head of the baby unit.

But things soon took a dramatic twist when she began to feel a bit strange.

Mrs Brown, who was just 28 weeks pregnant at the time, said: "I woke up and didn't feel quite myself but I didn't think much of it and went to work.

"I'd had a scan the day before and everything was fine with the baby so I wasn't worried.

"I was having my lunch break with my colleagues when I felt really uncomfortable so I went to the toilet.

"I was on the loo when I knew I could feel the baby's head."

In a state of panic, Mrs Brown called out for her colleagues who called 999 and her husband, Kyle, 29.

But with the baby well on its way, there wasn't enough time for medical help to arrive.

So with paramedics on the end of the line, Hannah delivered her baby in the toilet.

I was on the loo when I knew I could feel the baby's head

Hannah Brown
"I could hear the sirens but April just whooshed out with such force her umbilical cord broke.

"I didn't know what to do I was in such shock.

"I was in such disbelief that I had given birth in the toilet at work.

"April was on the floor so my manager told me I better pick her up.

"I scooped her up and we waited for the paramedics."

Mrs Brown and new born April, who was three months premature when she was born in July, were rushed to the intensive care unit at Gloucester Royal Hospital.

They were soon joined by Mrs Brown's husband, Kyle, who had missed the call to say that his wife was giving birth.

Mr Brown said: "I had a missed call on my mobile whilst Hannah was at work and by the time I had rang back she'd already had the baby.

"I was passed on to paramedics but as luck would have it my phone ran out of battery.

"I frantically packed a bag for Hannah and called Hannah's dad using the house phone and he came and picked me up.

"It was a complete and utter shock as there was no indication she was going to come so early.

She was diagnosed with sleep apnoea, and at five weeks old, April gave her parents the fright of their lives.

Mr Brown said: "She stopped breathing for over 30 seconds it was terrifying and we had talks about possible blood transfusions.

"But thankfully she pulled through and from that day onwards, it was full steam ahead and she just got stronger every day."

She added: "It was more of a shock that she was well enough to bring her home than her unexpected arrival.

"It is so nice to be home to start family life."

But this special occasion was particularly emotional for the young family.

Last year, they lost their first born Finn who was stillborn at 32 weeks.

Mr Brown said: "It was hard having delivered Finn that we were unable to bring him home and it was tough having to walk past the suite where he was born every time I went to visit April and Hannah in hospital.

"But although there have been difficult times before, we will never forget the little boy we had and the day we brought April home."

Amber rose divorce: Reasons

Amber Rose filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa yesterday.

And now we may know why.

She believes he cheated on her. Big time.

Sources tell TMZ that Rose grew sick and tired of Khalifa’s constant excuses for why his wife couldn’t join him on tour.

She continued to make the offer throughout the summer, but Wiz would tell Amber that she should stay at home with the couple's one-year old son... or that he needed to be left alone in order to earn the bulk of the family money.

Eventually, Rose gave up on her tour-joining mission - and also on the marriage. It's unclear if she has any proof of infidelity, but her suspicions were clearly strong enough for Rose to end the union.

Many, of course, believe that Rose is the one who actually cheated.

Khalifa thinks Rose has been sleeping with Nick Cannon - a rumor that started last week after Rose signed Cannon to be her manager - and alleges that she's making up lies about him to cover up for her own misdeeds.

Cannon came out this week and strongly denied having any inappropriate relationship with his new client, however

$9.3 million arms- $20000 scandal

For the second time this week, pandemonium reigned in the House of Representatives, yesterday, following allegations of a $50,000 bribe to members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to suppress a house inquest into the alleged $9.3 million cash seized by the South African Government.

*House of Representatives members in session
The House went into a near riot following the admission by a member of the House, Rep. Ali Madaki, APC, Kano to the leakage of the story of the alleged bribe to the PDP members. Madaki, however, confessed that the bribe amount was $20,000.00 and not the $50,000 as reported by a national newspaper, yesterday.
The PDP deputy leader in the House, Rep. Leo Ogor, however,  yesterday, described the allegation as an embarrassment, unparliamentary and an act of blackmail.
The House nevertheless directed its committee to investigate the fresh scam allegation and report within two weeks.
The controversy
Controversy started at the resumed plenary of the House, yesterday, when chairman of the Committee on Rules and Business, Rep. Albert Sam-Tsokwa (PDP, Taraba), raised a point of order bordering on the breach of his privileges.
Citing Order 8, Rule 20 of the House Rules, the Taraba lawmaker complained that he was embarrassed by stories in some national dailies on the walk-out by the All Progressives Congress, APC, members at the previous day’s sitting and the insinuation that PDP members in the House were given $50,000 each to stall debate on the motion to investigate the $9.3 million botched arms deal in South Africa.
Sam-Tsokwa said:  “As the House chairman of the Rules and Business committee, this issue is not to my knowledge. No money was received by any member of my party or myself.”
Although, Sam-Tsokwa did not mention anybody’s name, he alleged that the story was the handiwork of a member of the House, adding that the news story breached his privilege as a member of the House.
Rationalising the ruling of the Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha the previous day, which led to the disagreement on the floor, he explained that: “we are all aware that infrastructure motion can be raised, seconded and voted upon. This is not the first time issues like this have been brought to the floor of the House and rejected.”
He submitted that the protest and subsequent walk-out on the House by APC lawmakers was uncalled for and condemnable and consequently prayed the House to mandate the Ethics and Privileges Committee to investigate Madaki’s allegations.
Ruling on the matter, the Deputy Speaker referred the matter to the committee but cautioned his colleagues that the House “is at trying times” and “should be careful as circumstances like this could lead to casualties. It is not my wish that such should happen. It is regrettable that despite the fact that I went extra mile to take the motion, there was still a walk-out,” he said.
Upon the Deputy Speaker’s ruling, Madaki stood up on a point of order to speak. But his effort was igreeted with jeers from some members which created another pandemonium on the floor. Although, Madaki was consistently shouted down by his colleagues, the minority whip, Samson Osagie (APC, Edo) intervened and pleaded that Madaki be allowed to speak.
Madaki’s confession
To the consternation of members, Madaki confessed that he was the person that broke the bribery allegations to the press. He confirmed that he told a journalist that he had it on good authority “that PDP members were given $20,000 each.”
He maintained that what he told the journalist over the telephone about the bribe was that he was aware that each of the PDP members was bribed $20,000 but not $50,000 as was reported.
Following Madaki’s confession, the House was again enveloped in a state of rowdiness for about 10 minutes before order was eventually restored, necessitating the Deputy Speaker to refer the matter to the Ethics and Privileges Committee for investigation.
When contacted on the issue, Deputy Leader, Rep Ogor said:  “The whole episode is embarrassing and disgusting. How can somebody fabricate such lies?
“We voted on the matter and the nays carried the day and you still staged a walk-out to protest that you were defeated,” Ogor wondered.
“I found that publication embarrassing and as far as I am concerned it is pure blackmail. It is totally unacceptable and unparliamentary.
“People should know that before you go to the press and make such an allegation you must have your facts as nothing of that nature even happened and I challenge the lawmaker to come up with his facts.
“For the fact that APC was defeated was not enough reason for them to walk out and to add insult to it they brought the allegation that the same PDP members collected $50,000.”

Nick Cannon: it wasnt me

The words "Nick Cannon" and "divorce" have been mentioned in the same sentence a lot lately, but the America's Got Talent host wants the world to know he had nothing to do with the hip hop world's latest breakup.

Sources say that when asked about the news that Amber Rose had filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa, Cannon has been adamant about the fact that he and Rose never even thought of hooking up.

Even though Cannon is producing Rose's new TV show. And he's newly single. And she filed for divorce a week after they started working together. And Wiz accused Amber of cheating...

Ya know, we're beginning to see why people think Nick may have had something to do with it!

But despite all the evidence to the contrary, TMZ reports that Nick insists he has no interest in cheating, or hooking up with anyone who's cheating on someone else.

Nick says he only found out about Amber's marital troubles when her lawyer warned him about the impending separation after he signed her on as a client.

Man sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a pregnant woman

An Osun State High Court in Ilesa has sentenced Mr. Kolawole Obafemi to life imprisonment for raping a pregnant woman.

The statement added that Justice A. B. Abdulkareem, also ordered that the convict should be whipped aside the jail term.

The judge convicted Obafemi who was arraigned on one count preferred against him.

The convict was standing trial for the offence of rape contrary to section 358 of the criminal Code Cap 34 vol. II, Laws of Osun State.

The victim had told the court that on September 15, 2007 Obafemi came to her residence at about 7.30pm but she ran away on sighting him.

The statement did not explain the relationship between the duo nor state why the victim took to her heel upon sighting the convict.

“The convict pursed and beat up the victim. It was in the process of beating her that he tore her clothes having overpowered her.

“He tore her pant and he then had carnal knowledge of her plucking out her pubic hair and putting it in her mouth to drink with dry gin. He also inserted a bottle opener into the victim’s private part.

“The medical report obtained from LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo also confirmed that she was raped and as at time of incident she was pregnant.

“The court held that the prosecutor, Mrs. Rachel Ojimi, a chief state counsel from ministry of Justice, State of Osun was able to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt.”

The judge subsequently sentenced Obafemi to life imprisonment.

Amber rose files for divorce from wiz khalifa

Amber is asking for full legal and physical custody of their 1-year-old son Sebastian. She’s willing to give Wiz visitation.
And this is interesting. Amber acknowledges there’s a prenup, which youthink would work in Wiz’ favor, but she says it’s valid presumably, she’s not challenging it.
